Free Black Chesapeake
Since 2023 Angelo Turnage has been working as a project manager and producer of the free black chesapeake experience. A 4 week workshop made up of an intergenerational group of people of color. Cohort members are being guided through the process of creating art that meditates on what it might’ve been like to live for a day in pre-civil war free black chesapeake. The experience culminates in an exhibition gallery featuring cohort art inspired by their time in the workshop.
